[Creative] Black Tie Affair

Hola friends and family!

I had the honor of representing Microsoft at the Museum of the African Diaspora's (MOAD) annual fundraiser ball where I was finally able to wear black tie in San Francisco (my heart is longing for more reasons to dress up...stay tuned for ways on how we are going to fix that soon!). 

I decided to go with a classic color palette of black and white...but with a few creative twists to still make it me :) To balance the classic full A line stripped Badly Mischka skirt [yes this is a not a dress!] I wanted to find a top to spice things up. 

Did I say this was not a dress? Well I mean the entire look is not a dress. But I did manage to turn a fun sheer, pearl studded dress from Zara into a top to complete my entire look. Yes - you can find something similar here for less than $40. 

Instead of adding the color pop (because there always has to be a color pop!) with my shoes, I decided to opp for color with my earrings since I was wearing a crown braid. I highly suggest a great dangly pair that will help frame and highlight your face. I found these at Neiman Marcus Last Call for $15. Amen.
